The Crisis: 

DRC surface water kills

 The Water Crisis: In the Democratic Republic of Congo, 80% of rural DRC residents lack adequate sanitary facilities.
Everyday 51 million Congolese use the rivers for defecation as well as for drinking, fishing, bathing, washing clothing, and other daily activities. Contaminated water causes diseases that can cause death.
Children under 5 suffer the most. Congo rate of infant mortality is staggering, it has the 5th highest under-five mortality rate in the world ….Learn more>>

We engage with community members in the promotion of improved hygiene behaviors like hand washing 
and to renounce open air defecation.
